Graduate Women in Science (GWIS) is a national organization whose mission is to promote women in the fields of science, technology and mathematics. They support women in STEM programs through research grants and fellowships as well as providing networking opportunities and mentorship. The goal of the Chicago (formerly Eta) branch of GWIS is to provide professional advancement opportunities to women in science within the Chicago area.The Chicago branch of GWIS is dedicated to science education and also serves as a local networking group for women in the sciences throughout the Chicago-land area. Our chapter’s mission focuses on offering women in science a chance to develop professionally and foster leadership. To achieve this mission, the GWIS Chicago Chapter has three central goals: professional development, mentorship, and science education outreach. We will keep these goals in mind when developing on-going yearly events. We encourage you to join us and be an active participant in career panels, workshops, mentorships, networking sessions, and science outreach for the future generation of women in science.
